Welcome to Danygraig Primary School - Swansea Sports Awards' Primary School of the Year 2005

"Parents, Pupils and teachers in partnership"

Year 5 and Y6 are important years for all pupils. It is a time for learning and developing many of the skills that are needed in order for the pupils to achieve their full potential.

We are hopeful that with parents, pupils and teachers working together we can achieve the high standards of work and behaviour that we aim for at Danygraig.

Our novel is George's secret key to the Universe.

PE/Games
We usually have PE on Tuesday and games on Friday. Please ensure that your child has appropriate clothing and footwear. This term the Y5 children have swimming instead of PE. Y6 children will have swimming in the Spring term.

Homework
Homework will be given once a week and should be returned by the Monday of the following week. It is important that children return the homework by the deadline set. The children will receive a note if homework has not been brought in on time.

In addition to written work the children should read regularly at home, every night if possible. They should be encouraged to read a wide range of books.

All pupils should multiplication facts up to 12x12.

Each week the children will be given a spelling list to learn, in preparation for a test.

The class teachers would be grateful if parents/guardians could help with the learning and encourage all pupils to complete homework tasks.

Many thanks for your support,

Mr AP Byrne (class teacher)
